Guiltless Celebrations with Love & Flour.

A surprise is always generally sweet and if the sweet itself is the surprise it is double the fun. Occasions like birthdays, anniversary, graduation day, or any happy day calls for celebration and the one that makes it memorable is the dessert. When a meal ends the happy way the evening can be definitely called perfect.

It was 1 yr birthday of Instagram, yes Guiltless Foodies are already 1 on Instagram. We were wondering that it is a milestone year for us and wanted to do something exciting. Time flew but with no concrete plan as such. D-Day came and wishes started pouring in but the fact that we wanted to do something different had not yet set in. Around late morning came a parcel and it was indeed a big one . A pretty looking pink packet and on it was written Love & Flour by Sarah Patka. Our excitement grew and we were very curious. Had heard a lot about her cakes and we were in good mood for some delicious surprise. We opened the pack and yes there it sat inside, a cake with our logo, and yes it was fondant.

A description is way too less to explain what the cake looked like or tasted of. Fresh white layer of fondant covered the outer layer of the cake. The texture of the fondant was soo perfect. Slightly grainy and melt in the mouth. Our logo on top of the cake was done with so much precision. The pretty looking yellow fondant flowers around the cake and the highlight was the pink bow around the base which made the whole cake like a gift package. The more we saw it the more we just wanted to preserve it forever. But good things and especially if it’s a dessert should be attacked on with no delay. So we just did that.

As we cut the cake the knife slid in with the right speed. The cake was a dark chocolate one layered with dark chocolate cream. The cake as such wasn’t too sweet as the outer layer fondant was. It was a perfect balance and tasted way par excellence. Not too heavy and one definitely won’t feel uneasy even they managed to have have a large piece.

An overall very overwhelming experience. A great initiative by Sarah and it’s just not the thought but the taste which lasted and still instilled in our mind. Would love to try the other variety cookies and brownies she bakes.

Our birthday did get over but 1 month later even today the taste is intact and etched in our minds and that’s exactly what good treats are meant to be.

A sneak peak of what's in store this Summer at @antares_goa where @sarahtodd rustles up some lip-smacking grub and some refreshingly new Cocktails.
Opposites definitely attract. Enjoyed this Crisp and hot Malpua topped with creamy and cold Rabri @tajholidayvillage #goa at their Weekend Brunch. Ain't this a match made in heaven???
Objects in the mirror are much much much cuter than they appear! Repost from @keikothedachshund - Just so you know, I just got my front-seat ride with the drivers licence 🐾🐢 Woohoo πŸ‘…

We need our motivation on Tuesday rather than a Monday, reasons not just 1.What best but the creamy avocado and hummus on toast @thenutcrackermumbai #bandra .
Juss means a 'meal cooked with love' and it was precisely that when a group of us close friends met up over a vegetarian only unlimited Sindhi thali. The thali comprised of Sindhi Curry, Alu Took, Sai Bhaji,Daran ji Curry, Sanna Pakoda, Chaval, Bhuga Chaval, Bhindi Bassar, Rassewale Alu, Boondi Raita, Papad, Puri, Chapatti, Rose Sharbet and a dessert of our choice. This comforting regional thali is a brainchild of Rohit @thehungrymumbaikar & sure is a super duper hit πŸ‘
Our love for this amazing Indian dessert - The Jalebi is known pretty well in the family and @thechiranjeevlakshman made sure he shared a piece of our love through a picture with us. This is the famous Jalebi from Puruliya district in West Bengal served only in the Shal tree leaf. Dipped in the sweetest of syrup yet retaining its crunch. Shubho Nabo Barsho to everyone as well.
Our "TAMIL NEW YEAR SADHYA" at home today was Rice with Beans Poriyal, Urulai Roast, Manga Curry, Thair Pachchadi, Pal Payasam, Murungakkai Sambhar, & Vadaam. Wishing you all a very Happy Vishu & Baisakhi.
A platefull of Goodness. The Grilled Cottage Steak with fried rice, grilled vegetables and french fries was one of the best we've had @pickleandpint @tungahotels . Apart from being flavourful this meal was a great experience. Pic @shubhamkatariyaphotography
Say 'Hello to the Queen' the most delectable dessert of fried bananas, cinnamon, biscuit crumble, vanilla ice cream, and chunks of juicy strawberries.
