The Guiltless Foodies

We are a gourmand couple who love to discover new places and eat our hearts out. Follow us for a guilt trip along the food road.

Review: Snack Attack, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

Without further ado, here’s our review of the most frequented choice of meal in the city. Yes we’re talking about the crisp Dosas, Cheesy Sandwiches, Gooey Pizzas, and of course the all-time favourites; Juices, Mocktails & Shakes.

This city is filled with places like these, but only a few gather the attention they need. Likewise Snack Attack in Nerul has justified their existence in this competitive genre of food. Be it the perennial favourite Dosa, to the ever satiating Sandwiches, or the simple squeezed up Juices to their specialised Mocktails. Everything here is undeniably delectable.

With a decently done up place with a separate Air-conditioned section and a number of seating this place is overrun by small and large families, students and possibly everyone.

Our experience was a gastronomical extravaganza at this place. To be honest, one wouldn’t worry much when it comes to ordering these culinary innovations as most of them are a safe bet, in taste, notions of health, or the size of the hole in our pockets. So we went ahead and ordered quite a few items from the menu. Read it as “Tempted to order”

First came the Pahadi Pizza, Needless to say it was overloaded with cheese and toppings. Overloaded as in, we were quite unsure if it was even cut into slices. The taste was quite different from what we’ve had before. Rather hitting the right spot with the amount of spice and the cheese complimenting it all the way.

Next in line was the Masala Grilled Sandwich. We were quite high on cheese with just one dish from the menu, so we requested our sandwich to be made with minimum cheese possible. This was the perfect dish to whet our appetite. Though it was quite huge in portion the taste made us craving for more.

Now it was time to order some comfort food. Yes, we consider Dosas as comfort food, don’t you? Why else do we find these available at all times, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is the delicious subtlety of these light, crispy yet affordable fare which has it in the favourable list. We ordered the Ghee Roast Dosa which literally threatened us to return time and time again. Served with a variety of Chutneys it was like we time travelled to the south of India and back. It wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the generous addition of ghee in it.

All these ambrosial food was washed down with their medley of Shakes and Mocktails. We ordered the Sitafal (Custard Apple) Coconut shake and the Magic Mocktail which consisted of Sweet Lime, Pineapple, Vetiver and Lemon. With less sugar added, it was a perfect combination of taste and health.

If we had to pick one favourite out of all these, it would seriously be a daunting task. Whereas the price factor goes, this place is quite on the margin.  We sure are going back for more to explore the other parts of their menu. Are you?

Juss means a 'meal cooked with love' and it was precisely that when a group of us close friends met up over a vegetarian only unlimited Sindhi thali. The thali comprised of Sindhi Curry, Alu Took, Sai Bhaji,Daran ji Curry, Sanna Pakoda, Chaval, Bhuga Chaval, Bhindi Bassar, Rassewale Alu, Boondi Raita, Papad, Puri, Chapatti, Rose Sharbet and a dessert of our choice. This comforting regional thali is a brainchild of Rohit @thehungrymumbaikar & sure is a super duper hit 👍
Our love for this amazing Indian dessert - The Jalebi is known pretty well in the family and @thechiranjeevlakshman made sure he shared a piece of our love through a picture with us. This is the famous Jalebi from Puruliya district in West Bengal served only in the Shal tree leaf. Dipped in the sweetest of syrup yet retaining its crunch. Shubho Nabo Barsho to everyone as well.
Our "TAMIL NEW YEAR SADHYA" at home today was Rice with Beans Poriyal, Urulai Roast, Manga Curry, Thair Pachchadi, Pal Payasam, Murungakkai Sambhar, & Vadaam. Wishing you all a very Happy Vishu & Baisakhi.
A platefull of Goodness. The Grilled Cottage Steak with fried rice, grilled vegetables and french fries was one of the best we've had @pickleandpint @tungahotels . Apart from being flavourful this meal was a great experience. Pic @shubhamkatariyaphotography
Say 'Hello to the Queen' the most delectable dessert of fried bananas, cinnamon, biscuit crumble, vanilla ice cream, and chunks of juicy strawberries.
